The legend "PROSPERATVM EST OPVS IN MANI[BVS] EIVS NORIBE", meaning "The work has prospered in his hands, of Nuremberg", crowns the scene. On the reverse, a three-masted ship braves a turbulent sea, alluding to resilience and steadfastness, encapsulated by the motto "FLVCTVAT * NEC * MERGITVR CK", which translates to "Tossed but not sunk", the storied motto of Paris.
