Description
50 Pfennigs notgeld coin issued in Eisleben by the Mansfeldsche Gewerkschaft in 1917. The obverse features a pearl rim with the legend MANSFELDSCHE GEWERKSCHAFT • EISLEBEN • surrounding an image of a knight on horseback slaying a dragon. The reverse shows a pearl rim with the inscription KLEINGELDERSATZ 50 ●✶● 1917 ●✶● (small change substitute) around the centrally placed denomination and date. This piece belongs to the German notgeld issues during World War I, struck in limited quantities for local circulation.
