Description
10 Pfennigs Kriegsgeld coin issued by the city of Coblenz in 1918, during World War I. The obverse displays the city’s coat of arms with the inscription COBLENZ GÜLTIG BIS 1 JAHR NACH FRIEDENSSCHLUSS (“Valid until 1 year after peace agreement”). The reverse shows the denomination in the center with surrounding legend KRIEGSGELD 1918 10 ✶ PFENNIG ✶. These coins were emergency money (Notgeld) circulated due to metal shortages during wartime.
